The latest qr shows that non-recourse debt will be 55% of the total debt profile. Typically, when a company defaults, its the forced liquidation of all assets that ruins them, non-recourse only allows the lender to seize the pledged asset instead of all the company's asset.
The asset sell-off in the past 2 quarters were planned a long time ago and not some abrupt decision.
The recent quarter loss is due to higher provision costs for FPSO MQ and Atlanta. However, management has said that this is one off and unlikely to incur again.
Low oil prices do not affect their earnings as they are paid fixed charter rates. When u rent a factory, do u pay the rent based on ur profit for that month? That said, low oil prices may cause delay in contract awards and with recent RCPS issue, they may feel more pressure to get those awards. However, it is important to note that oil company that contracts FPSO usually have a variable cost of 10 to 20 USD per barrel. Most of the costs are sunk costs like exploration. So, they will still produce oil as long as oil prices do not drop below this level.
