The major USA shale oil companies Diamondback Energy and Coterra Energy have both stated that they will reduce their capital budgets for 2025 and decrease the number of drilling rigs. Diamondback Energy CEO Travis Stice warned: "Due to the reduction in drilling rigs, the USA onshore oil production is likely to have peaked and will begin to decline this quarter."

Day 4: Lightning didnt strike twice ⚡️⚡️

TLDR - tried a thing, did not work 😢
Context: Moomoo’s Papertrading ends 3 Oct, which meant I had to maintain 1st place for 4 more days (at start of Fri).
Logic: I observed the leaderboard & fluctuation patterns, noting the table toppers were mostly long China.
However on Tue, we had a sizeable correction (5-8%) post-Mon rush (which in fact, caused much grief in our competitors’ Whatsapp chat 😂)

How do energy companies move in relationship to the indices and interest rates? Thoughts on buying energy as a hedge?

I’m wondering if buying energy ETF’s is a good hedge during a recession or period of high inflation. Seems like it’s not affected by higher for longer interest rates. When most markets rally do energy stocks rally too?
