Stocks ended Tuesday’s trading session in the red, dragged down by a decline in megacap tech and chips stocks.
This came after ISM reading showed an increase in prices on the month, reigniting concerns about stubborn inflation and raise further questions around this year’s trajectory of interest rate cuts by the Fed.
In addition, don’t think it’s surprising to see Investors book some profits from megacap tech and semiconductor companies after back-to-back gains.

FOMC meeting begins today. But the announcement of rate cut decision will only be out on the second day - Wednesday. This will be the Fed’s last move on interest rates for the year.
The biggest question is how much more it will cut rates next year - keep an eye on the projections for where Fed see the fed funds rate in 2025.
Fed Chair Jerome Powell will also answer questions in his press conference following the meeting - watch this too.
